North America, Australia, New Zealand Row Crop Production Electrical Engineer  

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure regional and site-specific written electrical management systems meet compliance requirements and align with consensus standards to inform Bayer Crop Science's approach to risk mitigation and controls  

  • Define a streamlined and simplified electrical toolkit to be customized and managed at each location, including but not limited to framework & guardrails, guidance, tools, checklists, trainings, forms, compliance task templates, SAP maintenance tasks, and self-assessment questions  

  • Digitally enable critical process and certification steps (Arc Flash Assessment and Revalidation, Capital Project Design and Commissioning, Maintenance, Testing and Inspection programs, critical spares, etc.  

  • Lead electrical project workstreams to collaborate, co-create, and advance in rapid 90-day cycles  

  • Serve as liaison between regional Production teams, MEX, HSE, Engineering, PPS, and other key regional and global stakeholders  

  • Lead initiatives to continually assess regulatory, electrical industry, equipment and risk reduction needs  

  • Standardize PPE, Testing Equipment and Standard electrical work attire.  

  • Partner and established relationships with key electrical systems vendors.  

  • Be responsible for supporting the maintenance and reliability phases of the electrical infrastructure.  

  • Evaluate and provide electrical engineering and/or project management services with respect to electrical infrastructure ensuring the achievement of project and operational objectives. This includes safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability.  

  • Provide direction and support to electrical designers for CAD drafting, electrical code guidelines and proper electrical installation  

  • Provide field support, and participate in check-out, commissioning and start-up as needed, support required for high and medium voltage maintenance personnel on distribution projects  

  • Travel Requirement Avg 40% is expected within region  

 

 

WHO YOU ARE 

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

  

Required Qualifications: 

  

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience in Electrical Power Distribution at Industrial Manufacturing Production Facilities in the areas of maintenance, engineering, and operation 

  • Experience with DC/AC voltage up to 13.2kV  

  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70 and 70E)  

  • Experienced in reliability-centered maintenance and engineering. Competent and knowledgeable of the holistic approach to effective asset performance management  

  • Experienced in using SKM PowerTools to execute fault calculations, load flow studies, relay coordination and arc flash hazard analysis or willingness to receive training. 

  • Good knowledge of planned preventive and predictive (PM/PdM) maintenance principles and practices and predictive, condition-based, maintenance technologies  

  • Good basic understanding of root cause analysis (RCA) and six sigma techniques  

  • Sound knowledge of computerized maintenance management software tools (Maintenance Connection, SAP)  

  • Self-confident and personable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Capable of effectively influencing and convincing within a multidisciplinary environment 

  

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $117,909.54 - $176,864.32. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
