Maintenance Technician (Waco, Nebraska) 

 

Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician at our Waco, Nebraska site, you play a vital role in routine and preventive maintenance efforts. You support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant productivity and efficiency. Your contributions are essential to the safety, value, and functionality of our facilities and equipment. Through proactive inspections, you help ensure the timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery of our products. In collaboration with on-site personnel, you work to uphold the highest industry standards for safety, seed quality, cost, and supply reliability.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Participate actively in our environmental safety health program;
  • Organize, schedule, and complete routine and preventive maintenance for on-site equipment;
  • Operate equipment during seasonal peak periods, when applicable;
  • Collaborate with other groups within the company to develop consistency and cost-saving measures;
  • Familiarize yourself with systems and diagnose issues related to equipment involved in seed corn production;
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Ability to learn and use computer-based control systems and handheld data control devices;
  • Willingness to be on call as seasonal workloads demand;
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based work environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of three years of preventive maintenance experience in an industrial setting;
  • Advanced training from trade school or college;
  • Welding and fabrication skills;
  • Experience with maintenance of automated systems.

 

The job will be posted through September 2, 2025.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate between $31.28 - $38.15. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
