Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you demonstrate the ability and working knowledge to conduct and complete maintenance of company facilities and equipment across the warehouse and plant. You maintain an active and accurate inventory of parts, supplies, and tools to complete needed repairs and meet availability expectations. You coordinate and schedule service/maintenance work, conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment, and maintain company facilities (including bathrooms, conference, and office areas) and production equipment to enhance value, usefulness, and provide a safe working environment. You are responsible for assessment and compliance with all applicable hazardous work permits, including but not limited to Lock out Tag Out (LOTO), line breaking, fall protection, confined space, and atmospheric monitoring. You demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards. You maintain accurate records for all equipment and facility maintenance activities performed, leveraging internal IT systems (Maintenance Connection). You demonstrate ability and functional expertise to conduct and complete maintenance of company facilities and equipment across the warehouse and plant, with functional expertise in areas such as mechanical, electrical, fabrication/welding, light construction, automation, or other areas pertinent to site maintenance. You provide frequent and thorough inspection of all facilities/equipment serviced to proactively identify issues and reduce major repair expenses. You execute/enhance a robust equipment maintenance training program to promote the standardization of equipment setup, maintenance, and safety across site areas. You set up maintenance strategies, including preventative schedules and long-term plans, organize and document equipment life cycle, interventions, and reports, and work with other maintenance employees at other sites to build networks and partnerships. You help drive waste elimination and value creation by reducing variation in the production process and equipment settings, support areas across the plant in driving the adoption of 5S practices to maintain an environment conducive to work, aligning with the labeling and ordering of tools, report any issues to areas, Safety technicians, and management as appropriate and in a timely manner, perform any other tasks across functional areas depending on site and seasonal needs, and develop proficiency within the development focus areas aligned to level, including teamwork, communication and leadership, new initiative support and implementation, morale and engagement, maintenance, safety, quality, and maintenance specialized area.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the company’s HSE and QA/QC standards;
  • Maintain accurate records for all equipment and facility maintenance activities performed, leveraging internal IT systems (Maintenance Connection);

WHO YOU ARE:

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or Certification;
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal (English);
  • Ability to operate power sweeper, forklift, scissors lift, and boom lift;
  • Ability to do daily inspections and minor maintenance on power sweeper, forklift, scissors lift, air compressors, and rotating equipment;
  • Ability to arc welding, soldering, brazing when requested;
  • Ability to use various electrical and mechanical measurement devices including micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, etc.;
  • Familiar with specifications of pipe fitting, shop hand tools, drills and taps, bearings, belts, seals, lubrication, pumps, and motors;
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Ability to lift to 60 lbs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of eight years related experience and training, preferably in industrial maintenance;

 

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;

 

Posting is available until October 29, 2025.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate between $34.31-41.73. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
