Kansas City HSE Engineer Intern 

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you ready to kickstart your engineering career with hands-on experience at the world s leading agriculture enterprise? Join us for a dynamic internship where you ll collaborate with a Health Safety & Environment team dedicated to promoting safety, sustainability, and compliance in a chemical manufacturing environment.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all initiatives adhere to safety regulations, OSHA standards, environmental guidelines, and internal safety protocols;
  • Risk Assessment: Participate in conducting risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend improvements;
  • Regulatory Research: Stay updated on relevant legislation and best practices in HSE to support compliance initiatives;
  • Daily Collaboration: Engage with various departments to promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility;
  • Documentation Assistance: Aid in the preparation of HSE documentation, including reports, presentations, and compliance records;
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the implementation of our Operational Excellence program and support site-wide safety improvement initiatives.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a bachelor s or master s degree program in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields;
  • Academic Achievement: Successfully completed your sophomore year or higher with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.;
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Location: Able to commute daily to our site in Kansas City, MO;
  • Timing: Summer (May August, 2026);
  • Physical Ability: Willing and able to climb stairs and ladders;
  • Environment: Ready to work in a dynamic chemical plant setting.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $23.20 to $44.20. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant s location, market data/ranges, an applicant s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
