YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Service Specialist II, are to: 

 

  • Assist Customers with questions on equipment types, prices, specifications and operation;
  • Travels to sites to install, checkout, calibrate and on training on equipment;
  • Calculate treatment mixtures;
  • Calibrate liquid dry and seed associated with the seed-treater operations;
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment locally and on Customer sites;
  • Perform updated training for existing equipment systems;
  • Communicate programming requirements to engineering and engineering vendors;
  • Collaboration with Engineering, Sales and Customers on equipment system projects;
  • Participate in workshops/field days/tradeshows as needed;
  • Collaborates with customer engineering, maintenance and management to ensure design and accuracy of equipment proposal;
  • Collaborates with commercial operations and marketing by providing technical input for system designs and quotation;
  • Communicates and assists site general contractors during installation and start-up of industrial treating systems;
  • Can provide expert level of support on at least 1 piece of equipment and basic level of support on entire product line;
  • Assist with the scoping, installation, and start up of commercial systems;
  • Solve issues escalated by Field Service Specialist I;
  • Direct support of internal partners and customers as a technical expert throughout the sales cycle;

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma;
  • Experience in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Programming (Allen Bradley & GE);
  • Experience with Automation software (Rockwell);
  • Must be able to read blueprints, schematics machine drawings and interpret complicated specifications;
  • Have an understanding of VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) functions, operations and programming;
  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring and complete Input/Output checks;
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical process systems;
  • Knowledge of the proper use of tools required to troubleshoot, repair or assemble equipment systems;
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference;
  • Ability to comply with Customer QHSE (Quality Health Safety Environmental) requirements when on site;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, colleagues, vendors and contractors;
  • 75% overnight travel with 25% international;
  • Ability to meet DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements of driving/hauling;
  • Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, License suspension, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 8+ years relevant experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 4+ years of relevant experience;
  • Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years relevant experience;

 

Ideal candidate should reside in Shakopee, MN, Indiana, South Dakota, Illinois or Iowa.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $56,351.25 to $84,526.87. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
