Field Sales Representative IV Seed-DEKALB/Asgrow Iowa 

 

 

This DEKALB/Asgrow Field Sales Representative IV position will cover Worth Mitchell and Howard county in Iowa.

As a Field Sales Representative IV you will create demand for Bayer seed growth,seed products with retailers, dealers, and top growers, achieving an annual target within your territory or squad. You are an integral part of the team, collaborating closely with other Bayer commercial employees in the same geography to ensure the success of the squad goals. Your expertise in Bayer brands and product/technical/agronomic knowledge makes you a champion in demonstrating product performance against the competition.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with squad-mates;
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting, inventory management, and product line demand issues;
  • Serve as the trusted advisor to retailers and dealers, effectively selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products;
  • Collaborate with squad-mates and other teams to maximize services, information, and sales;
  • Actively manage inventory concerns to ensure success in meeting business objectives;
  • Gather, assimilate, and analyze market and competitive information;
  • Develop and recommend strategies for achieving long and short business plans for key accounts and assigned area;
  • Manage expenses, discretionary dollars, and program payments to enable top and bottom line growth;
  • Continuously expand selling skills and product/portfolio knowledge;
  • Ensure achievement of program execution and fulfillment, including national/regional marketing initiatives;
  • Mentor and coach earlier-in-career Field Sales Representatives;
  • Manage area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy and process through effective problem-solving and execution;
  • Travel approximately 60% with significant face-to-face customer interaction.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written);
  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results;
  • Excellent business acumen, account planning, influencing, and critical thinking skills;
  • Financial, time, and territory management expertise;
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment;
  • Strong user-level computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions;
  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment;
  • Valid Driver’s license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
  • Proven interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork;
  • Ability to pass a driving record background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Demonstrated product, portfolio, and agronomic knowledge preferred;
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing, account management, or agriculture preferred, or other education level with 20+ years of listed experience required.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between  $106,226.73 - $159,340.09 . Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
