Farm Maintenance Technician 

 

Farm Maintenance Technician (Glyndon, Minnesota)

Position Overview:

As a Farm Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining our farmland, facilities, and machinery/equipment used for research and production processes. You will ensure safety and quality in alignment with applicable procedures and collaborate with employees across the plant, handling basic activities in IT systems.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Demonstrate ability and working knowledge to conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment across the warehouse, plant, and field;
  • Operate various types of farm equipment for both pre, post, and in-season land management;
  • Manage weed pressure on the farm by applying commercial pesticides and following all compliance regulations for application;
  • Maintain an active inventory of parts, supplies, and tools to complete needed repairs and meet availability expectations;
  • Coordinate and schedule service/maintenance work for assets on site;
  • Conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment;
  • Maintain company facilities and equipment to enhance value, usefulness, and provide a safe working environment;
  • Responsible for needs assessment and compliance with all applicable hazardous work permits, including but not limited to Lock out Tag Out (LOTO), line breaking, fall protection, confined space, and atmospheric monitoring;
  • Maintain accurate records for all equipment and facility maintenance activities performed;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to company's HSE Environmental Safety & Health and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards (e.g., operating shop floor/machine safety and operating procedures);
  • Report any issues to Safety technicians and leadership as appropriate and in a timely manner;
  • Perform any other tasks across functional areas to support seasonal site needs.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Basic knowledge of IT (Internet, Excel, PPT, Word, facilities with systems);
  • Ability to obtain appropriate driver's license for medium to heavy vehicle operation (>10,000 lbs., GCWR);
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain license
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 40-50 pounds regularly;
  • Must have availability to meet overtime demands, including occasional work on weekends and holidays.

 

Posting available until April 24, 2026

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate between $32.28 - $39.37. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
