YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, DEKALB Technical Product Lead Corn, are to: 

 

  • Define and execute testing strategies and summarize results to characterize precommercial products/solutions, define FAB’s, create solution recommendations and value determination;
  • Provide technical leadership on commercial Solution & Launch sub-teams to ensure success of all current and future DEKALB products & solutions;
  • Lead market needs assessment, developing scope and prioritization output summaries to be utilized by the corn strategy and brand teams;
  • Anticipate and co-develop new or expanded DEKALB branded product solutions Partner with Seed Portfolio Experts to support Life Cycle Management decisions;
  • Lead technical evaluation on new product decisions. (Seed, CP) Collaborate with Breeding, Field Solutions, Climate, as well as Data Science and Analytics teams to maximize the value and insights from all trials and data sources;
  • Collaborate in the creation and support of marketing messages/material;
  • Lead development of commercialcharacteristics and technical product/solution support materials;
  • Drive alignment across customer facing, customer enabling and enterprise enabling teams on tactical implementation plans that build product/solution confidence and competence enabling the achievement of Bayer’s strategic goals;
  • Generate product demand through technical leadership and positioning;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer facing and GTM teams, to introduce new products and develop commercial positioning Steward product appropriately for FTO and demand generation. (CP & Seed);
  • Provide leadership and support with Academic, Public and Gov’t affairs as needed;

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Outstanding knowledge and experience in Corn Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Biology, Horticulture or a related field;
  • M.S. Degree in an Ag. or related field;
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills;
  • Effective at articulating complex information in a non-technical manner to diverse audiences;
  • Analytical skills and a strong working knowledge of statistics and MS Excel;
  • Established user of other data management or visualization tools and dashboards;
  • Strong project management skills, relationship and networking skills, agility, and ability to influence;
  • Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously;
  • Experience with programming and modeling (R, Python, etc.);

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • M.S. Degree in an Ag. or related field with 5+ years agronomic and/or business experience;
  • Desired Ph.D. in Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science, Agronomy, Botany, Biology, Horticulture or a related field. 7 years agronomic and/or business experience;
