Data Analytics Specialist
As a Data Analytics Specialist, you will contribute to collaborative projects that solve critical problems and answer important questions around key decisions for our business. You will foster new ideas to produce intelligent optimization solutions around operational and R&D pipeline challenges on a team with other Data Analysts. Additionally, this role provides key cybersecurity practices, documentation, and site information within the overall facility plans.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
Provide technical analysis, curated data sets, and reporting tools in a fast-paced team environment of data analysts and business SMEs to accelerate building an analytics driven plant breeding/trait product development pipeline.
Perform moderate to extensive problem solving around data quality, accuracy and dataset connectivity.
Use BI tools like Tableau and PowerBI as well as SQL and non SQL databases, Kafka, Scala, Go etc. to deliver insight, recommendations, and solutions for business users.
Contribute to tje the development of sustainable, consumable, accurate, and impactful reporting on model inputs, model outputs, observed outputs, business impact, and key performance indicators.
Continuously develop business acumen by observing operations and Q&A sessions with SMEs.
Build on established partnerships with cross functional teams in the company, such as nursery operations, software dev teams, engineering and analytical labs.
Prepare reports, visualizations, presentations, and analyses with large data sets for supervisor review, under time constraints, across various project types.
Create and maintain design and code documentation in GitHub, SharePoint and/or other repositories used by the team.
Approve any/all changes to firewall configurations on site. May appoint a secondary contact to do so during planned absences.
Perform account management and user administration for a variety of systems, including the control systems on site. This includes periodic auditing and reviews.
Support any/all provisioned "functional" IT infrastructure and assets deployed on site.
Operate autonomously, detecting and anticipating problems.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 12+ years relevant experience
Knowledge of Process Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Plant Breeding, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related quantitative discipline.
Experience building data models using R, Python or other statistical and/or mathematical programming packages.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations to drive actions
Proficiency in off-the-shelf analysis software such as PowerBI, Tibco SpotFire, MS Excel, Tableau or similar.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred:
Master's degree in relevant field
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $81k-121k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive program (if relevant).?
