Crop Manager
Position Overview:
You will play a crucial role in planning and managing crop production activities both in fields and greenhouses. This position involves ensuring efficient processing of materials and collaborating with experts across functions to enhance operations, controls, lighting, watering, cover crops, and more. You will work closely with program owners to understand desired outcomes, both short and long-term, and influence critical site discussions around task prioritization. Additionally, you will share learnings with new team members, influencing their development. You are accountable for crop rotation, soil fertility, pesticide management, tillage, irrigation, and field scouting. During peak times, you will assist with planting, harvesting, and data collection, while supervising part-time labor teams in executing duties and recognizing team/individual accomplishments. You will collaborate across functions at the site to plan and allocate experiments and seed production blocks across crops to deliver the product pipeline. Your role includes assisting with planning, planting, pest control, irrigation, and devitalization of plant material in greenhouses, participating in irrigation and environmental control modernization planning for greenhouses on-site, and being accountable for farm equipment maintenance and acquisition. You will contribute to site-wide sustainability efforts within and outside the local community, implementing innovative technology solutions to increase efficiency and improve breeding processes. As a safety program owner, you will follow Bayer safety protocols and manage field safety and WPS programs. Driving a company vehicle is part of your duties, which may include driving over 5,000 business miles annually.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $95,590.42 - $143,385.64. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
