Chemical Process Technology Engineer Co-Op 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

  • Support the Ore Characterization project by evaluating physical and chemical properties of ore and process solids such as treater dust, SDM, and coke fines, across different size fractions;
  • Conduct lab-scale testing toassess particle size distribution, chemical compositions, physical properties;
  • Assist in briquetting trials and analyze mechanical strength and furnace suitability of briquetted materials;
  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and environmental teams to support pilot-scale testing and process development;
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and insights in technical reports and presentations;
  • Participate in lab safety reviews and contribute to operational excellence. 

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field;
  • Hands-on lab experience, especially with solids and particulate systems;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • High degree of personal initiative and curiosity;
  • Excellent organization and planning abilities;
  • Ability to work well in a team and diverse environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $23.20 to $44.20. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant s location, market data/ranges, an applicant s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
