Technical Account Manager Protected Culture, De Ruiter Vegetable Seeds
 

This position is responsible for the business results for the De Ruiter brand within the Bayer Vegetables Seed business, leading the organizational efforts in and around Ontario & Quebec, Canada with customers in the region associated with glass house or greenhouse vegetable growing environments. The role is responsible for the region in terms of Net Sales, OPEX, Gross Profit, Volume and Market Share, to maintain the vegetable Market Share, and be able to increase double digit YOY growth in the coming years.

This is a permanent, home-based position with travel within the territory of South-Western Ontario (Leamington, Ontario area).

What you will do:

  • Responsible for Profit & Loss results within sales territory, which include Net Sales quota, Gross Margin improvements, Gross Profit quota, Market Share growth, Operation Expense management.
  • Develop, propose and implement, a Protective Culture (PC) Strategy for the current stage, focused on Portfolio improvement, trait identification and resource allocation, that maintains and increases our market share in the region, on a double-digit base, and improves our Net Promoter Score as a leading choice for our dealer accounts and growers
  • To have a strong influence on internal stakeholders, such as other sales counterparts, marketing, finance, credit and collection, R&D, market development, demand planning, customer service, HR, to ensure the business continuity and operation in the region
  • Develop and implement actions plans to have the right distribution channel and Go to Market strategy to accomplish the business objectives for the short and long term
  • Provide dynamic leadership, recommend training, assistance, appraisal, motivation and development to our key customers to help them achieve their goals and build and capture value along the way
  • Establish and implement a customer segmentation and account planning process to properly use and maximize the resources available to achieve and exceed our financial targets
  • Develop and execute a trial plan strategy of late stage pre-commercial & new commercial products (Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers, Lettuce) in partnership with Market Development within the territory
  • Data collection from trialing and entry into the internal systems for product advancements
  • Establish a presence in the US protected segment with customers but also key associations and stakeholder external partners fully representing all things Bayer

Who you are:

  • Bachelor''s degree in plant science, Marketing, Agronomy or Related.
  • 12/+ years of experience in business or greenhouse management, marketing and/or sales
  • Influence, Customer Focus, Finance Acumen, Business Strategy,
  • Negotiation, Sales and Marketing
  • English proficiency.
  • Office and digital greenhouse solutions (Priva, Hoogendoorn) knowledge
  • Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 30-40% by vehicle and/or plane
  • Proven interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork within a pod structure
  • Possess a driver s license in good standing
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly
  • It s an asset to be French English bilingual
