Customer Insights Specialist - Data Analyst

This is a senior level Customer Insights Specialist position that focuses on data analysis and strives to:

  • have customers choose Bayer as their preferred provider for their operation;
  • enable customer facing teams to run their local business for the benefit of customers and Bayer; and
  • uncover powerful insights to enable data-driven decisions on customer solutions and improve Bayer's customer experience.

Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a permanent position is based in Canada, preferably out of Calgary, Alberta or Guelph, Ontario.

What you will do:

  • Drive the development, automation, and optimization of advanced reporting and analytics using Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Azure and Excel to enhance customer insights capabilities
  • Support Business Intelligence development and design of analytics database and identification of critical gaps or issues within data
  • Combine spatial analysis, geospatial layers, and customer data to extract actionable insights and produce dynamic geo-visualizations
  • Translate complex data insights into actionable, high-impact recommendations that drive demand generation and customer adoption
  • Shape grower and channel strategies by designing and managing key performance metrics (e.g. ROI, rebate rates, exposure, lift, loyalty, marketing letter analysis) to influence marketing and business decisions
  • Lead distributor zone mapping and advanced retailer performance analytics to support data-driven decision-making and strategic market positioning
  • Develop and implement share of wallet analytics, identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities to maximize value creation for both customers and the company
  • Lead the design and execution of data training programs, empowering field teams and USS to make data-driven decisions aligned with customer needs and business priorities
  • Collaborate in the development of targeted marketing lead lists, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, while overseeing data governance to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements (e.g., PIPEDA, CASL,etc.)
  • Collaborate with Unit Leads, Business Development Leads, supporting functions (Product Supply, IT, Marketing, Sales, Crop Teams) to drive efficiency, innovation, and long-term business outcomes

Who you are:

  • B.A./B.S. Agriculture, Business, Marketing, Statistics or related discipline?
  • 5/+years' related experiencepreferred in field sales /Ag seeds, chemical or related industry?
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights?
  • Highly proficient in Excel, and intermediate/advanced experience in dashboard development using Tableau, PowerBI, or other data visualization and analytical tools?
  • Strong understanding of data mining and database query development
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectivelywith cross-functional teams.?
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams while supporting multiplepriorities and deadlines?
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to co-creation, collaboration, and teamwork.

Desired

  • Proven experience with, and a solid understanding of, modern data visualization tools forpromoting data-driven decision making and promoting business process improvements?
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve defects in visualization design, level of detail expressions,complex queries, views, stored procedures etc., to improve data quality and optimization forthe most accurate and performant dashboards
