Canola Planner

The Canola Planner is responsible for optimizing supply planning for our North America Canola business. The role will collaborate with North America Business Leaders, North America and South America Production teams, 3rd Party Tollers, along with key stakeholders to meet on-time delivery of canola products to our customers, while meeting inventory and total costs in accordance with business supply forecasts and budgets.

What you will do:

    • Lead all planning activities for Commercial season production of Canola in North America.
    • Support monthly regional and country S&OP processes by providing an overview of supply vs. demand for key product segments while collaborating with Product Management, Demand Planning, Manufacturing and Finance.
    • Leverages unique business insights to influence and develop supply plans for region and global markets and prepares recommendations to senior leaders.
    • Establish strong partnerships with Canada Production team to understand their needs to produce a high-quality Canola crop.
    • Establish strong partnerships with 3rd party tollers and manage adherence to contract requirements.
    • Coordinate and manage activities that require cross-functional involvement across multiple regions (North America & South America). This includes developing detailed plans, setting clear objectives, tracking progress, and proactively identifying and addressing any potential roadblocks that can impact Canola production and timely delivery to North America.
    • Additional activities included but not limited to: Create multi-year rolling forecasts, managing seedstock with tollers
    • Managing freight and overall costs of shipments. Leading/coordinating end of process reviews.
    • Facilitate communication: Serve as a key liaison between various departments and teams across different regions (North America & South America). Key touch points are ensuring accurate forecasting of supply is in place throughout the South America & US Toller growing season.
    • Collaborate with regional leaders and stakeholders to create and analyze key performance metrics that drive seed production reliability and identify opportunities for improvements through process reviews.
    • Operate within a strong product & trait quality, ISO, compliance and continuous improvement culture
    • Estimated Travel: 10-20% regional & international travel (Within Canada, United States and South America)

Who you are:

    • Bachelor’s in supply chain management, Agriculture, Business or related discipline
    • 3+ years supply planning experience
    • Strong Excel skills proficiency in advanced features like complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and automation
    • Experience with ERP systems
    • Ability to lead and work cohesively as a team member in our DSO (Dynamic Shared Ownership) environment, interacting and building positive working relationships within the organization and across other functional groups and departments
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly present information and influence others through oral/written communications & work with people/teams to build high morale & commitment to goals
    • Capability to recognize when there is a need for change and act as a change agent to develop novel solutions to problems
    • Skilled at leading, influencing, managing conflict and negotiating with cross-functional teams
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
