Business Intelligence Developer

This position develops integrated data, reports, and dashboards that transform data from multiple internal sources into actionable insights for functional analysts and leaders. Enables outcome-driven, functional and cross-functional decision-making by supporting operational execution, business performance measurement, and continuous improvement.

What you will do:

  • Insight Delivery & Decision Support: Delivers high-quality data, reports, and dashboards with standardized KPIs and metrics to support critical business decisions and performance management.
  • Business Partnership & Requirements Translation: Partners with stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and decision drivers, translating requirements into clear, actionable insights.
  • Data Integrity & Standardization: Develops and maintains accurate, consistent, and secure datasets using common cross-functional and cross-brand metric definitions.
  • Data Modeling & Documentation: Designs data models, metrics, and documentation to clearly define data sources, business rules, and expected outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Data Product Delivery: Collaborates with data engineers and business partners to design and deliver scalable data products that fully meet user needs.
  • Analytical Judgment & Presentation: Applies strong business acumen to identify required data, determine appropriate granularity, and present insights effectively for the intended audience.
  • AI-Enabled Self-Service Analytics: Enables self-service analytics through intuitive, AI-enabled dashboards that support guided exploration, deeper analysis, and natural-language interaction while ensuring consistent metric definitions and proper interpretation.
  • Continuous Improvement & Data Culture: Continuously improves data, metrics, and reporting solutions, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Problem Solving & Adaptability: Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and persistence when working across multiple data platforms, tools, and evolving technologies.
  • Data Security & Access Control: Ensures datasets are protected through appropriate security, privacy, and role-based access controls to support safe and compliant data consumption.
  • KPI Definition & Metric Development: Defines and builds new KPIs and metrics where gaps exist, aligned to business objectives and standardized definitions.
  • Basic understanding and practical experience with Git for source code management
  • Knowledge of Kanban principles and practices
  • Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5/+ years of experience working with data and analytics within the manufacturing industry with experience supporting supply chain operations and sales (e.g., data warehousing, BI, transactional or performance reporting); Ag industry and/or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence and analytics tools, including AI-enabled analytics and productivity tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, SAP, Microsoft Power Platform, Business Objects, GIS/QGIS, Advanced Excel, CRM reporting, Microsoft Copilot, GenAssist).
  • Strong relational databases and querying across on-premise and cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, AWS-hosted databases, Google BigQuery).
  • Experience using analytical programming languages such as Python, DAX and SQL to support data analysis, automation, and advanced reporting.
  • Experience working in AGILE and decentralized, project-based, self-guided environments, including Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) or similar operating models

The base salary range for this role is between $86,000 and $129,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.

This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
