We are looking for a Agricultural Area Sales Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team based in Northern/Central Illinois / Wisconsin, IL.

As an Ag Area Sales Manager for Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, you will be responsible for managing a team of Ag Solutions Advisors focused on driving accelerated sales growth of BASF's portfolio of seed, crop protection, and seed treatment solutions to assigned growers. The team will develop, cultivate, and maintain business relationships with top growers while working effectively with retail partners. Additionally, the team will be accountable for managing the seed business at retail.

  • Developing and implementing the regional seed sales plan to drive sales growth.
  • Ensuring Ag Solutions Advisors promote crop protection, seed, and seed treatment solutions by engaging with growers to communicate the value of BASF products.
  • Overseeing the development of plans to achieve seed, crop protection, and seed treatment sales at key growers and retailers.
  • Aligning with key customers and maintaining direct relationships with the top 20 influencers in the geography.
  • Motivating, coaching, and recruiting the best team to maximize ROI opportunities and professional development.
  • Actively monitoring competitive actions and promotions, reporting findings, and identifying solutions to address competitive challenges.


If you...

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree and over 10 years of overall experience; an MS/MBA is a plus.
  • Possess more than 5 years of selling or sales management experience within an agricultural-related field, such as seed, chemicals, equipment, or crop consulting.
  • Demonstrate a track record of excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, and sound judgment.
  • Have a history of successfully achieving goals, identifying and overcoming obstacles, with a solutions-first mindset.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop successful business relationships with customers and internal teammates.
  • Be willing to travel overnight or weekly, up to 60%, and have the demonstrated ability to relocate within the organization. Must reside in Northern/Central or Illinois or Wisconsin to support the business.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $124,800 - $171,600. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law,.
