About the Position

This position requires that the individual spend the majority of his/her time in the warehouse actively working with direct reports to improve safety, quality, efficiencies and productivity through training and continuous improvement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with location management in continued development with the implementation of the Health & Safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all functions within the warehouse including staff development and supervision, maintenance of equipment, and the shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Reviews and analyzes the warehouse operations on a continuous basis and ensures that the facility is clean and organized, as well as adhering to safety, good manufacturing practices, and governmental health and welfare regulations.


  • Ensures proper rotation of all materials to minimize write offs, ensures that products which are outside expiration or shelf life are not shipped to customers.
  • Supervises all aspects of rail movement at the facility including safety, track inspections and railcar movement of the locations fleet.
  • Participates in physical inventory counts, including verification of results, determination of the source of errors and when required, initiates changes in procedures to eliminate future errors.
  • Adaptable. Demonstrates commitment to the organization, exhibits a high degree of adaptability in dealing with constant change, ambiguity and a complex work environment; balances multiple, simultaneous demands in a responsible professional manner.
  • Position requires walking potentially long distances, standing, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces and working within extreme temperatures.
  • Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices.
  • Work with location management in continued development with the implementation of the Health & Safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate & participate in audits, prioritizing and tracking completion of findings.
  • Ensure that unsafe behavior and conditions are corrected.
  • Incident Investigation (root cause analyzes), incident trends and related preventative measures.
  • Set the example for safety. Perform Safety Audits.
  • Communicate food safety/sanitation/quality programs to hourly employees.
  • Prepare the warehouse for, and participate in, regulatory/third party/customer/company audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm coupled with ability to work on several detail oriented tasks that may be unrelated.
  • The ability to track inventory, make decisions and communicate efficiently with other departments is required.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and communication styles for achieving results
  • Ability to motivate staff to improve warehouse processes.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skill. Provide direction and feedback to team members
  • Three to five years' experience
  • Must be computer literate and good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
