Technical Service Representative- Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:
The Technical Service Representative within the Quality Center Of Excellence platform will act as the liaison between customers, manufacturing sites, warehouses and internal departments on all relevant quality related matters. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide global quality support for ADM technical CoE based products
  • Handle incoming quality requests from customers, end users and sales managers with an aim towards a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate closely between customers and manufacturing sites, warehouse and internal departments on all relevant quality related matters
  • Assist to identify and manage risks in cooperation with plant quality department, as well as food and feed safety managers, by assisting to develop risk assessments
  • Connect with customer base on all facets of quality details, including product specifications, analytical details, questionnaire information, applications and product quality issues
  • Document any customer complaints, and work with Business Managers, General Managers, Research, Operations, Legal and Regulatory to take required course of action; follow up to ensure full resolution of complaint, including final letter to customer
  • Maintain complaint focused metrics around issue and cost and deliver to the related business unit(s) and other appropriate teams
  • Work with regulatory, as well as food and feed safety teams, to ensure knowledge of the most recent changes in policy, regulations, monographs, etc
  • Respond to customer requests for standard/non-standard documentation and questionnaires as needed
  • Assist business and sales managers with relevant projects, where necessary
  • Build and run document database, including but not limited to: SDS, tech data sheets, customer statement and datasheets
  • Master information systems as needed to effectively perform tasks. Systems can include SalesForce, IBM, WebShip, WebCOA, PolicyTech, WMS, TLC, etc.
  • Plan, prioritize and coordinate customer audits

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, in a Science subject area preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years with quality or technical related experience preferred
  • Ability to understand technical properties and functionality of ingredient portfolio
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and communication skills
  • Developed interpersonal techniques, customer focused
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision; effectively plan, organize and execute own activities
