Technical Services Representative- Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:

The Technical Services Representative role is an experienced role in the Technical Services service group. The individual in this role is expected to have exposure to all aspects of quality support for the commercial team, product salespersons, customer service, and production teams as well as provide support to technical services team members on day-to-day activities and more complex requests and issues. Direct interaction with existing and potential ADM customers is expected. Functional leadership will be required to define, develop, and implement improvement changes within the supported business units to meet outstanding production and quality expectations as related to customers and food safety expectations. Role responsibilities will increase in complexity as knowledge and understanding is gained at product and service levels.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with commercial and sales to provide technical details, product details, some application, etc. to customers.
  • Support sales with review of customer product and quality requirements. Liaise between production team and commercial to meet requests.
  • Work with Commercial, R&D, and contract manufacturing team (as needed) to develop needed technical studies, documentation, specification development, etc. for new products.
  • Document and manage customer complaints and product issues. Work with legal and regulatory teams as the need arises. Determine and document cost of issues for metric reporting.
  • Assist with other technical services activities as level of knowledge increased and demand requires. More in-depth involvement with commercial teams and operations to improve touchpoint efficiency
  • Work with business unit to assist in OOS product disposition as needed within business rules
  • Respond to customer requests for standard and non-standard documentation.
  • Evaluate and complete customer questionnaires as needed.
  • Master information systems as needed to effectively perform tasks. Systems can include SalesForce, Cost of Poor Quality, IBM, WebShip, WebCOA, PolicyTech, WMS, TLC, etc.
  • Participate on other ADM teams and opportunities as needed
  • Maintain metrics and keep Milling operations, commercial, and quality teams up to date on customer and technical issues.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science-related field preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years technical service experience or other ADM roles with similar responsibilities
  • Preferred production, R&D, or commercial experience in product line to support
  • Excellent written and communication skills along with developed interpersonal skills
  • Friendly and customer care focus
  • Basic trouble-shooting and attention to detail mentality
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
