Elevator Superintendent - Hooker, OK

This is a salaried, exempt level role.

Position Summary:

The Elevator Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all elevator operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and grain quality standards are consistently met. This role drives operational improvements through project management, team leadership, and continuous process evaluation. As a key member of management, the Elevator Superintendent is expected to model and enforce safety protocols while fostering collaboration across the team. The role requires a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the elevator, including grain handling, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
  • Ensure grain quality is maintained at acceptable standards throughout all stages of handling.
  • Conduct safety and housekeeping audits; identify and correct hazards or unsafe practices.
  • Manage rail track maintenance and railcar unloading procedures.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with commercial and plant teams to support overall facility goals.
  • Initiate and manage projects focused on energy reduction, cost savings, and process enhancements.
  • Fill in for other departments as needed, promoting teamwork and flexibility across the complex.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in grain handling or elevator operations.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety programs and process hazard analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage personnel and schedules, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and provide accurate, timely data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Project Management experience highly preferred.
  • Experience using maintenance and operational software such as Maximo.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Excel, Access, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, team motivation, and coaching.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and computer use.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and work in varying physical environments.
  • Flexibility to work adjusted hours and respond to operational demands.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
