STF Operations Analyst- Decatur, IL
This is an exempt level position.

At the end of 2015 ADM started a new global Structured Trade Finance business unit with hub offices in Switzerland, Singapore, and Sao Paulo. The core focus is on building new business opportunities for ADM's commercial activities with creative financial solutions through trade & structured finance products for banks and corporates as well as building incremental value and tailor made funding solutions for both customers and suppliers of the group. The pillars of this new unit primarily focus on the following aspects:
  1. Classical trade finance instruments distribution such as L/C issued by the regular activities of the business divisions of the group
  2. Offer Customer/Supplier solutions in relation with export & import activities
  3. Deploy and operate on proprietary financial structures for banks and corporates in various countries utilizing ADM existing footprint and trade flows
  4. Partner with global treasury group to deleverage ADM's balance sheet and reduce counterparty risk
Position Summary:

The STF Operations Analyst will be in charge of executing trade-related structures for both customer/supplier solutions and proprietary financial structures. Responsibilities will include supporting proprietary transactions originating from STF's different regions (Asia, Europe, and LATAM) wherever ADM parent company is directly involved or has a link to the transaction. This is a key role as STF business is very documents driven, and it will entail a collaboration with other STF team members (origination, risk distribution & structuring), but also other key partners within the ADM organization such as tax, legal, accounting, and commercial operations. The individual will need to be able to grasp the multiple dimensions of STF structures to apply them to specific transactions. He or she will also be require to lean and follow the STF standard operating procedures that have been crafted.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and help execute documentation related to structured trade finance transactions (contracts, distribution agreements, confirmation letters etc).
  • Liaise with banks on all documentation requirements on trade execution
  • Liaise with finance / accounting on proper execution, booking, and reconciliation of transactions
  • Prepare and handle STF payments activity with Treasury/Cash Management Team
  • Input trade details into system of record as directed by STF Head of Operations
  • Organize and file STF transactions documents and prepare information needed for audits
  • Assist with document preparation for new trade structures into Product Approval Form (PAF) documents
  • Assist with identifying ADM's US trade-flows to support further growth of STF team's proprietary transactions
  • Monitoring of appropriate STF country/counterparty limits following mentorship from ADM risk & Treasury groups
  • Register and follow up CCC (program GSM-102 of US Govt.) transactions
  • Keen attention to details and responsiveness to time-sensitive requests to support transactions
  • Ability to grasp financial products & transactions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across the world in the multiple STF locations
Job Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Degree/college coursework in accounting/business/finance (or similar) preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years' experience with knowledge of ADM's commercial/trading activities and general experience with ADM's systems -- preferably experience in a commercial execution role with knowledge and experience regarding ADM's trading activities, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong ethic to align with STF standard operating procedures and regulations related to trade-finance programs
  • Ambitious, willingness to constantly innovate and seek news ways to support the activities of the group
  • Real passion for learning new products and skills and motivate change when needed
  • Ambition to learn about ADM's STF business and support the growth of this new business
