Sr. IT Data Quality Analyst-Erlanger, KY; Decatur, IL
This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has embarked on a Digital transformation. As a part of this transformation, we know that data is at the center of everything that we do. ADM is seeking a dedicated professional to help take us to the next level of our data governance journey. We are looking for an IT Data Steward for our Enterprise Data Governance Team to help enable improvements in ADM Data Governance Tools, Processes, Policies and Standards; including Data Quality Controls, Data Security Compliance and Information Asset Management. Reporting to the Enterprise Data Governance Manager, this position will collaborate across our Center of Excellence with Business Data Stewards, Data Architects, IT Developers, Database Administrators and Data Governance Analysts to document and test data quality rules, IT processes, data element definitions, data flow diagrams, data lineage and impact analysis. The primary purpose of this role is to help ensure adherence to our global data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices to meet overall business needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Use interpersonal skills to partner with business-embedded data stewards to work with IT to resolve data quality issues.
  • Track important data management metrics in the data governance scorecard against quality standards
  • Document Data Governance Requirements, Data Flow Diagrams, Acceptance Criteria and Test Cases to ensure Business and IT Data is Fit-for-Purpose.
  • Perform Data Quality Profiling processes using SAP Information Steward, Informatica Data Analyst/IDQ
  • Capture metadata, review profiling results, document issues and establish appropriate data quality monitoring
  • Capture and report data quality statistics using SAP Information Steward and SAP Data Services.
  • Define terms and definitions for critical data elements in conjunction with business and technology partners
  • Engage with assigned areas within the business operations to develop/enhance knowledge and subject matter expertise of the line of business processes, systems of record (one version of the truth), and sources and their usage.
  • Collaborate effectively with Business Data Owners, Business Data Stewards, IT Technology Partners and Vendor Contractors to achieve expected business outcomes.
  • Provide training and guidance to Business Data Stewards on use of data governance tools, scorecards and dashboards for reporting and analysis
  • Recommend and implement data framework guidelines related to data definitions, usage, sources, and quality standards
  • Manage the content of the data dictionary and business glossary
  • Ensure the relevance and accuracy of the data dictionary by updating it to reflect changes in business and technology
  • Track important data management metrics in the data governance scorecard against quality standards
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve data integrity issues
    • Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities related to data governance.
    • Use interpersonal skills to partner with business-embedded data stewards to work with IT to resolve data quality issues
    • Create appropriate use policies to limit the collection of unnecessary data and, later on, audit data practices to ensure business compliance
        • Participant in the vendor evaluation processes
        • Provide status on assigned work items for management and stakeholders as necessary
        • Participate as a team member of the cross functional data analytics team
        • Partner with business teams to evangelize and drive usage / compliance of MDM solutions

Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Completing business lineage (data lineage) for regulatory reports/processes that will conduct data element traceability back to data source that essentially validates where data comes from
  • Other duties as required and assigned
Job Requirements:
  • 7+ years in a Data Governance relevant Role
  • 5+ years' experience as a data analyst with a specialization in data warehousing or business intelligence environments
  • 5+ years' experience with Agile(SCRUM) or DevOps software development life cycles preferred
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or another related degree of study; Master's Degree in a Technology field is preferred.
Functional / Technical Competencies:
  • Familiarity with the Data Management Association (DAMA) Body of Knowledge (DAMA-DMBOK) and its components, or similar frameworks for understanding data management best practices
  • Advanced Knowledge of Business Process Management Notation(BPMN) and Data Flow Diagramming Techniques
  • In-depth experience developing Data Quality monitoring operational reports using SAP Information Steward, PowerBI, and Informatica Master Data Management, Informatica Quality Center preferred.
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues; such as GDPR, CCPA, SOX, HIPPA, etc.
  • Advanced Knowledge of SQL Programming Language Experience in an Agile Scrum, DevOps working environment
  • Advanced Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Strong collaboration skills working with Enterprise Architecture, Business teams and IT Developers
