Your Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager based in Tilbury, Essex, UK. Reporting to the Operations Director the job holder will have overall operational responsibility for the Tilbury site and will provide Leadership & Management of all plant operations. Driving continuous improvement to ensure the safety of our people, products & processes is fundamental to this leadership role. The Site Manager will focus on maximising the operational effectiveness of the plant, driving efficiencies and meeting challenging cost targets. Engaging, empowering & developing people is key to success in this role!

Your Responsibilities
  • Promote and drive the safety culture and engagement of all employees to ensure the location meets its goals for safety and health, process safety, environmental stewardship and food safety, while achieving full compliance with the UK and ADM's corporate regulations and standards.
  • Lead the site production, maintenance & quality teams to deliver an efficient, cost effective manufacturing operation, continually driving manufacturing performance standards and delivering on Customer quality and service expectations.
  • Pro-actively engage and collaborate with the Operations Centres of Excellence (CoE's) to drive improvements in plant performance and alignment with regional & global operations strategies.
  • Drive the implementation of reliability programs on site to effectively manage the integrity and performance of all operational assets, to ensure the plant is able to operate safely and efficiently in line with the business needs.
  • Identify and champion capital investment projects to deliver operational improvements and support cost effective investment in the plant's asset base.
  • Champion and lead the locations commitment to ADM's Performance Excellence system to drive a culture of continuous improvement through colleague engagement in continuous improvement activities.
  • Effectively deploy strategic goals through all levels of the plant, ensure effective performance management is in place and employee development is focused on building skilled, competent and motivated teams to achieve discretionary performance.
  • Work collaboratively with all other functions to create an efficient overall supply chain and ensure a high level of customer service is offered at a profitable level for the business.
Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree (or ability to operate at this level) in the fields of Manufacturing, Engineering, Chemistry, Food Technology, or other related fields.

• Demonstrable experience as a departmental manager, preferably experience in food manufacturing or continuous process industries.

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience of safety, health, environment and food safety legislation, regulation and associated programs.

• Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodologies.

• Experience and understanding of reliability & engineering processes and techniques.

• Credible project management experience.

• Computer literate with various Microsoft packages.

• Proven inspirational leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.

• Strong communication skills and an excellent team player.

• Strong problem solving, diagnostic and analytical skills, with a results focused approach.

• Commercial and financial awareness.
