Shipping Verification Operator - Erlanger, KY

This is a full time hourly position

Position Summary:

This role offers an entry-level start for a career in Quality Assurance with a fast-growing global company committed to advancing the abilities of its employees and promoting from within!! You will be fully trained to complete sampling of raw materials, finished products, expired materials, and contract manufactured items. You will also offer support for investigating non-conforming products, detailing Rejections/Deviations/Warehouse Dispositions, and maintaining supplies and cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows basic GMP, ISO Procedures, GLP, Safety, Data Entry and/or other electronic record keeping tools.
  • Supporting receiving, shipping and warehousing.
  • Products sampling, could include allergens.
  • Executes standard sampling (Screen & Select) of finished products and flavors, flavor systems or specialty ingredients.
  • Coordination of sample shipments to the quality labs.
  • Completes work on time and accurately.
  • Utilizes and continues to acquire basic ingredient knowledge.
  • Utilizes and continues to acquire basic product processing knowledge.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks daily, with the flexibility of re-arranging daily workload to accommodate higher priority needs.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required such as;
  • Audit allergen and organic storage locations.
  • Audit shipping accuracy
  • Audit access control
  • Verify label changes are accurate.
  • Communicate with warehousing staff the movement of material to and from sampling area.
  • Sample area housekeeping.
  • Identify and address food safety/GMP issues.
  • Open, sample and re-seal raw materials while following all GMP and food safety requirements.
  • Document management on received material (C of A's)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience working in Shipping, Receiving, Logistics, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Production environment, preference for GMP/regulated production exposure.
  • Quality oriented and experience with inspection, swabbing, sampling desired.
  • Great communication skills - both written and verbal and ability to effectively work with teams from various backgrounds/departments.
  • High School, equivalent or degree in related field preferred
  • Bar-code experience
  • Forklift (standup) experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills, (Word and Excel)
  • Self-motivated & commitment to continuous improvement
  • Able to stand, walk, lift, reach and bend throughout 8 hour shift.
