Salaried Exempt Position

Job Duties

Position is responsible for providing direction to an hourly production crew of the Lincoln, NE soybean extraction plant. The candidate will coordinate communication, personnel, resources and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant during the shift. Must be able to communicate expectations and goals for safety, quality, productivity, reliability, environmental compliance and operating costs. Takes an active role in managing the shift and coaching employees to reach their fullest potential by providing feedback in a manner that is effective, consistent and fair. This position reports to the Extraction Superintendent.

  • Must promote, train and supervise employees in all safety initiatives
  • Take a hands-on active role in managing shift and employee performance
  • Supports and engages in ADM Performance Excellence efforts
  • Troubleshooting skills and the ability to plan work
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and record keeping skills
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written), listening and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, bending, kneeling, working with tools, work in extreme temperature conditions, and work in a dusty environment
  • Regular, prompt attendance and ability to work rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends and holidays, willing to accept after-hours call ins when necessary
  • Computer literate in Maximo, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and desire to enhance skills through education and training
  • High school diploma or equivalent combined with 5 years' experience in maintenance and or operations
  • Leadership experience, having direct experience in successfully leading change
  • Passion for process improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict management/resolution skills
  • Able to represent management professionally and efficiently to internal/external customers
Responsibilities
  • Ownership for the safety of self and other team members
  • LOTO of equipment to be worked on
  • Assignment of Jobs to personnel
  • Prepare Permits
  • Check on progress of jobs
  • Answer Personnel Questions - or find the information needed
  • Communicate with Maintenance / Help with Operation's Maintenance Issues
  • Call in maintenance, management, commercial, or shift coverage help as needed
  • Write work orders in Maximo
  • Work with maintenance supervision to minimize equipment down time
  • Help diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues
  • Assist in writing of JCCs and SOPs for production activities
  • Enforce company plans, policies, and rules
  • Lead team meetings and follow up on action items
  • Other duties as assigned
