An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative at our Seaforth, Liverpool site. This role is a multi-skilled position and will require the candidate to work across a multitude of site functions. The primary focus of the role is to maintain operational performance and hygiene standards to the maximum at all times. To run the weighbridge function, weighing in wheat lorries and weighing out of flour lorries. During out-of-hours operation, to assist in the control and operation of the Milling plant from wheat intake to finished product transfer, using the systems and equipment to manufacture the products to the quality required to meet the company and customer needs. The role also covers out-of-hours customer support and remote weighbridge assistance to other ADM Milling locations.
The candidate will also need to assist in the QA function of the site where necessary, on occasion testing incoming wheat and outgoing flour as well as generating QA delivery certificates.
This role incorporates shift working over an 8 day rotational cycle, operating a continental 4 on 4 off rota and the candidate will work a 2x 12hr day shift, 2x 12hr night shift following by 4x days off. Within the Site Operative Team holiday cover will be provided internally.
Your Responsibilities
Operation of the weighbridge function, weighing in of wheat vehicles and weighing out of flour vehicles
Assist the Millers in the operation and control of the plant equipment, mill operating systems, screenroom and finished product handling, providing out-of-hours ownership of the milling plant.
Able to complete HACCP required checks / testing independently, including final redressers and metal detectors
Perform hygiene duties as allocated to maintain the standards demanded by the company, customers and food safety legislation.
Sampling and analysis of raw materials (including wheat obtained from lorries and ship), internal stocks and finished products, as required to produce the quality of products as required by the company.
Generation of Certificate of Analysis / delivery certificates as required.
Ensure that all work is performed with due diligence and in conformation of all current and future relevant legislation and company procedures. Specific reference being made to Health & Safety, Hygiene, COSHH, HACCP and Electrical Regulations.
Support other Site functions on the site as the need arises.
Carry out IPM in accordance to company procedures and standards
Assist in maintaining clear records and data bases relating to all operational matters and process control systems.
Assist the Millers and Engineers to carry out plant maintenance within the candidates skill base, to ensure that all plant is operating to its optimum.
Ensuring milling downtime is minimised to ensure optimum plant efficiency.
Your Profile
• Good secondary education, particularly in Mathematics and English.
• Experience of working in manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
• Would need to be fluent in English.
• Familiarity with common Microsoft Applications.
• PLC program knowledge would be advantageous.
• Mechanical Aptitude would be advantageous.
