Your Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner in Corby, UK. The main purpose of this role is to manage and supervise the central logistics transport planning function, achieving maximum cost effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Your Responsibilities
  • To actively support and promote safety & health in accordance with both company and legal requirements.
  • Ensuring a legally compliant and cost effective transport planning operation.
  • Achieve high levels of customer service (OTIF).
  • Maximise transport resource efficiency and minimise wasted cost.
  • Ensure efficient use of electronic scheduling software.
  • Achieve agreed utilisation of human and capital resources.
  • Analysing distribution performance reports and identify any potential operational improvements.
  • Effective management and supervision of the transport planning team.
  • Colleague training, development and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain strong relationship with 3PL suppliers.
  • Actively contribute to finding solutions for a varied range of distribution challenges that may occur in the short, medium or longer term.
  • Adaptable, flexible and willing to cover main distribution office activities as and when required.
Your Profile
  • A proven career history within transport & distribution.
  • Supervisory / Management experience.
  • Certificate of Professional Competence - National Road Transport Operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of WTR - RTD Regulations.
  • Current clean driving licence.
  • Experience of electronic planning systems.
  • Transport planning.
  • Microsoft applications (Outlook / Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
  • Transport costings.
  • Communication.
  • Teamwork.
