The Role

The Security Manager China is responsible for implementing and leading all aspects of ADM Global Security's risk mitigation programs in China. The position is responsible for strategic programs and technical security projects with significant complexity and high-risk profiles. Essential to the role is a strong partnership with senior business management as well as ongoing interaction with internal and external stakeholders such as facility managers, local law enforcement agencies and external security experts. This position is responsible for gathering & analyzing security-related intelligence from a variety of sources and provide the salient information to management to mitigate security risks and threats to ADM's colleagues, operations and reputation.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and manages China's complex security programs, physical security, crisis management, life safety, and guard force management to protect our colleagues, reputation and assets.
  • Supports the management of guarding suppliers including the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure high quality operational vendor performance in line with our key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serves as a key member of the Country Crisis Management Team. Develops, maintains, and conducts drills for the Crisis Management Plan (CMP) to ensure readiness for major incidents (e.g., natural disasters, civil unrest, severe accidents).
  • Closely manages sensitive and confidential investigations in concert with key internal investigative partners. Conducts security investigations and implements risk/loss mitigation measures.
  • Develops, advances and executes security risk assessments methodologies. Conducts periodic, risk-based, local security assessments of company facilities. Ensure compliance with the ADM Global physical security minimum standards.
  • Identifies gaps within global security programs and works with leadership to mitigate risks.
  • Drives security awareness programs and training across the organization and with key business partners.
  • Proactively collaborates with other business units & stakeholders (Operations, Human Resources, Global Business Services, Legal etc.) to resolve security threats or incidents.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with law enforcement agencies and external security committees.
  • Delivers journey-specific threat assessments & mitigation strategies for all business travel into and throughout China.
  • Deploys timely executive & close protection service when needed.
  • Engages project management in security initiatives involving decommissioning, acquisitions, renovations and new construction. Leads designing & developing physical security systems (CCTV, DACS, IDS) for ADM sites.


Your Profile:
  • Have minimum of 7 years of dedicated experience in corporate security, risk management, or law enforcement.
  • Having law-enforcement background is a plus
  • Have Bachelor degree(s) or higher in related fields.
  • Have experience working in manufacturing companies.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Project Management methodologies.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both written and verbal) is essential, along with professional proficiency in English.
  • Possess an extensive network of public and private sector professional contacts.
  • Having Security related certificates (e.g. CPP, PCI, PSP) is preferred.
  • Having membership of reputable internation security associations (ASIS, ACSG) is a benefit.
  • Experience in developing sophisticated security systems (Milestone, Genetec...) is a benefit.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule particularly during a crisis, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Have highest standards of ethics, integrity, and discretion, especially when handling sensitive and confidential investigation matters.
