Looking to further progress your career in lipid science?

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our R&D Team Lipid Science & Applications EMEA. Our aim is to facilitate the research and development of innovative vegetable oils and fats from raw materials all the way to application in finished confectionery, margarines, bakery, fried goods and many other applications. For that we are looking for an enthusiastic scientist who drives research projects related to new products, functional improvements, raw materials, processing, analytics, contaminant mitigation research and all other aspects lipid science related. We would like you to join our team at our brand new Research and Development Center in Hamburg.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute lipid related research and find technically sound solutions to meet customer needs
  • Define and timely deliver on agreed project objectives
  • Design and develop lipid solutions for a wide range of final products like confectionary, bakery, snacks and meat alternatives
  • Independently plan and execute laboratory and pilot plant trials
  • Contribute to the creation of intellectual property within the projects
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders like the broad scientific community within ADM, technical account management, quality departments as well as commercial, regulatory, legal and operations teams
  • Develop and implement new methods and processes
  • Closely collaborate with the technical account management team to provide support in science based customer communication and development projects
  • Report and present research findings internally and externally


Your Profile

  • A Master degree in food science, food chemistry or food technology and prior work experience of minimum 3 years in an R&D function in the food industry
  • In depth knowledge of vegetable oils and fats, and related refining, modification and application technologies; extensive experience in a typical oils and fats application area is a plus
  • Proficient project manager
  • Good command of digital R&D laboratory tools
  • Fluent level of German and English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex scientific concepts to non-scientific audiences
  • High dedication and self-motivation
  • Team player
  • Hands-on style and service mentality
