Support and assist the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Organize and conduct safety meetings for colleagues.
Assist in incident investigations and analyze accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes.
Maintain/update/upload safety records, including incident reports, training materials, and safety data sheets.
Collaborate with shift management and department heads to develop and update safety protocols and procedures.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Enforce known safety and health rules.
Provide daily follow-up on all safety incidents under investigation.
Support in any emergency or security situations.
Build colleague commitment and enthusiasm for safety through effective leadership and influence.
Participate and/or run the Safety Pillar Team.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1+ years of experience in a Health and Safety role in a continuous manufacturing environment is preferred.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must have a valid driver's license.
OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training certification a plus.
Strong organization and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Sphera (Incident Tracking Database)
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to work in a variety of conditions both indoors and outdoors which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirator when required.
Ability to work at heights, elevated areas, climb, walk on catwalks.
Effective communication skills (verbal/written)
