Regional Milling Operations Technology Manager - St Paul, MN

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

The Regional Milling Operations Technology Manager position will apply best management practices throughout the Flour Milling Plants. The primary purposes of the position is to ensure maximum value is obtained from efficient operations and to drive continuous improvement in daily activities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform activities related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of advanced process control and optimization applications.
  • Conduct optimization assessments to identify and address existing controls issues, propose solutions to complex technical problems, and recommend process improvements.
  • Act as a resource for plant operations leaders.
  • Assist plant personnel with the diagnosis of operational difficulties and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Implement and track performance metrics to maintain or improve the effectiveness of advanced process control and optimization applications.
  • Develop process knowledge required to guide plant engineers in the optimization of unit operations and the achievement of production targets.
  • Support plant projects including the FEL process.
  • Participate in the development of SOPs and equipment commissioning.
  • Drive cultural change within a plant to ensure that plant processes are able to operate at optimum levels consistently over time.
Job Requirements:
  • Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others.
  • Deep understanding of Milling operations.
  • Experience with RCM best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and Regional management.
  • Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation.
  • Willingness to spend time in plant areas - tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight away from home.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently while traveling to remote plant locations.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience with Milling Operations.
  • Technical Milling experience preferred
