Refinery Loader - Enderlin, ND

This is a full-time, hourly position.

Job Summary:

Refinery Loaders are the key personnel involved with handling and testing of all bulk oil shipments. ADM Enderlin utilizes both railcar and truck vessels on a daily basis. Besides loading of these vessels, Refinery Loaders will keep a close watch on the quality of the product to ensure minimum specifications are being met before shipment can take place. All shipments go through a series of tests which the Loader will initiate. Other tasks might include: sample taking, housekeeping, monthly inventory of products and light maintenance tasks such as lubrication routes. and Refinery loaders also work closely with the Refinery Operator and report directly to the Refinery Supervisor
  • Operate pumps and valves to unload dry and liquid railcars.
  • Perform and document QC checks to ensure all products meet our quality specifications.
  • Perform and document sanitation duties of the terminal as assigned by management.
  • Complete and maintain QC logs and forms as specified by S.O.P's.
  • Operate pumps and valves to sanitize tanker trailers.
  • Operate pumps and valves to make liquid Sucrose and Liquid Blends.
  • Perform daily equipment inspection with the ability to detect mechanical defects and notify Supervisor.
  • Operate computer systems to input data and/or other business functions.
  • Handle and connect hoses.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers, cranking of dolly legs, pulling 5th wheel pins.
  • Ascending and descending tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, ladders and step stools.
  • Jockey trailers using tractors and yard tractors within Company property only.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Operate pumps and valves to unload dry and liquid railcars.
  • Perform and document QC checks to ensure all products meet our quality specifications.
  • Perform and document sanitation duties of the terminal as assigned by management.
  • Complete and maintain QC logs and forms as specified by S.O.P's.
  • Operate pumps and valves to sanitize tanker trailers.
  • Operate pumps and valves to make liquid Sucrose and Liquid Blends.
  • Handle and connect hoses.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers, cranking of dolly legs, pulling 5th wheel pins.
  • Ascending and descending tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, ladders and step stools.
  • Operate computer systems to input data and/or other business functions.
Education and Training:
  • No prior experience or training.
  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
