Job Summary:

The Regional Director of Quality and Food Safety Animal Nutrition will serve as a strategic leader and subject matter expert in quality assurance and food safety across the organization. This role is responsible for the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of corporate, divisional, and site-level quality programs. The director will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.

This position reports to the Global Director of QFS Animal Nutrition.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to understand all food safety risks based on species mix, understanding each facility's equipment/structure and work with facilities/division/corporate experts to implement mitigation plans
  • Incorporate key verification programs specific to each facility's highest food safety risk.
  • Evaluate the QFS programs and procedures across the locations, identifying how to effectively standardize and integrate across the region.
  • Create a required training matrix that all quality personnel and key operations roles will be trained on.
  • Deliver a standard approach of regional facility visits, when & why a plant visit needs to happen
  • Key quality contact that has knowledge on local regulations and ensures program compliance
  • Lead, communicate, and support all potential SQE events to deliver appropriate corrective actions, ensuring proper steps are taken to mitigate risks, including.
  • Communicate necessary CAPA across the global region
  • CAPA implementation
  • Ensure sustainability at the impacted facility
  • Point of contact for regional projects that require food safety input
  • Drive improvements in QFS-related systems, technologies, and metrics to promote data-driven decision-making.
  • Support corporate goals to deliver improvements for defined KPIs across the region.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to meet the QFS needs across all assigned facilities, including a synergistic and collaborative partnership across multiple groups
YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in food/feed science, chemistry, or a related science field OR 5 years' prior Quality / Food Safety experience; experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Prior experience establishing and overseeing a food management system at a facility or divisional level
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience with leading investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of applicable food regulations and requirements, including GFSI requirements (SQF)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for animal food
