About the Position
ADM Milling Co. is actively searching for an organized, autonomous and dynamic player to join their Milling Team located in Calgary. The Quality and Food Safety Manager will be responsible for providing food safety support and leadership within the ADM Milling Division. This position will ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory standards and audit requirements. The Quality and Food Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Regional Quality and Food Safety Manager for the region in which the facility resides.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement Food Safety requirements for Human Food and Animal Food, when applicable
Actively participate in employee development
Create, support and facilitate training
Assists with internal auditing
Provide auditing support for both internal and external audit requirements (FDA/BRC/Organic/Gluten-Free/Customer Audits)
Perform annual tasks as needed for compliance
Provide IT support for systems such as Sphera and PolicyTech
Interact with ADM Quality Center of Excellence and Food Safety personnel to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
Oversee and implement Cost of Poor Quality initiative
Assist with the IA (Intentional Adulteration) FSMA implementation- Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment
Oversee the investigation of non-conformity, assure root cause analysis and review
Required Skills and Qualifications
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
Must be organized, possess time management skills and be able to meet deadlines
Ability to make decisions based on information and data available
Ability to work as a team member and provide training
Working knowledge of Document Management (PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databases
Knowledge applicable food regulations and requirements
Demonstrate experience of effective leadership
Education or Work Experience
Preferred 4-year degree or equivalent 7-year Food Safety experience
Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained
