Project Manager- Decatur IL East Plant

Job Description:

Decatur East Plant Project Manager will oversee the design and implementation of capital projects as required to meet the needs of the business. This includes identifying/evaluating project opportunities, requesting authorization for projects, as well as managing a broad range of responsibilities for complex capital projects thru the project phases of Identification, Definition, Design, Execution, and Evaluation. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. They will coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will make necessary recommendations to ensure project health and completeness. They have responsibility to continuously improve our plant's project engineering processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Evaluating engineering projects including capital and process improvement projects.
  • Establish project economics, budgets, schedules, and reporting project status to stakeholders.
  • Plan, manage and monitor the delivery of projects from project initiation to project closure.
  • Define and implement overall project governance structure and provide clear roles and responsibilities for the project team and key stakeholders.
  • Comply with and continuously improve processes to meet project deliverables including safety, compliance and internal standards/procedures, installation cost, schedule, and commissioning.
  • Provide mentoring and performance development of plant project and process engineers and construction coordinators.
  • Comply with engineering policies and procedures to meet safety, environmental, and quality compliance requirements.
  • Colleague will design processing systems and equipment required for the production of food grade products
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of production / supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of project engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated participation and leadership in plant safety programs and process hazard analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage personnel, budgets, schedules, and other resources.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with multiple employees, management personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • General knowledge of codes, relevant standards, and materials/metallurgy.
  • Technical competence in engineering and related systems such as: piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and utilities.
  • General knowledge of software systems such as Maximo, Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, Access, Word, and SharePoint), Aspen, and CAD.
