Main Responsibilities:

To be available to supervise staff on any shift required including weekends
To drive and maintain high standards of H&S ensuring all staff are aware of their responsibility to keep themselves and others around them safe.
To be responsible for the deployment and supervision of production operatives, ensuring optimal production performance.
To report to and have daily briefings with the Supervisor and / or Operations or Site Manager.
To provide support and cover for duties performed by the Supervisor
To ensure the efficient and safe working of operations within the production area including preparation, manufacturing, packing and cleaning.
To ensure that all relevant food safety & quality checks (including CCP checks) are carried out in accordance with site procedures.
To ensure that all paperwork is completed fully and correctly.
To monitor the quality of products and to report any issues to QC / QA.
To assist in the investigation of complaints
To provide a hands on approach to staff training
To take part in the set up of new working systems and the continuing improvement of existing systems.
To monitor machinery and environment on a daily basis
To liaise with production planner to ensure work is prioritized and completed on time
To report any potential or current problems to the Supervisor
To carry out staff appraisals
To attend courses and attain suitable qualifications to improve knowledge and skills to enhance performance as the business deems necessary.

Education & Experience:

Required:

Numerate and Literate
English Speaker

Desirable:

Supervisory experience
