Main Responsibilities:

  • To be available to supervise staff on any shift required including weekends
  • To drive and maintain high standards of H&S ensuring all staff are aware of their responsibility to keep themselves and others around them safe.
  • To be responsible for the deployment and supervision of production operatives, ensuring optimal production performance.
  • To report to and have daily briefings with the Supervisor and / or Operations or Site Manager.
  • To provide support and cover for duties performed by the Supervisor
  • To ensure the efficient and safe working of operations within the production area including preparation, manufacturing, packing and cleaning.
  • To ensure that all relevant food safety & quality checks (including CCP checks) are carried out in accordance with site procedures.
  • To ensure that all paperwork is completed fully and correctly.
  • To monitor the quality of products and to report any issues to QC / QA.
  • To assist in the investigation of complaints
  • To provide a hands on approach to staff training
  • To take part in the set up of new working systems and the continuing improvement of existing systems.
  • To monitor machinery and environment on a daily basis
  • To liaise with production planner to ensure work is prioritized and completed on time
  • To report any potential or current problems to the Supervisor
  • To carry out staff appraisals
  • To attend courses and attain suitable qualifications to improve knowledge and skills to enhance performance as the business deems necessary.
Education & Experience:

Required:
  • Numerate and Literate
  • English Speaker
Desirable:
  • Supervisory experience
