Production Shift Supervisor - Dallas, TX

This is a full time, exempt position - 3rd Shift

The Supervisor has a significant role in Operational Safety, Quality Control, and Food Safety for the Dallas, TX Corn Sweeteners facility by providing effective oversight of operations. This employee must be able to support/assist the plant management to process the various products in a safe and cost effective way.

The Supervisor will be assigned and scheduled as needed based upon production needs. Each Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides managerial, technical and training leadership and support for manufacturing units.

  • Ensures all activities are conducted under company safety, quality and regulatory (USDA, Kosher, etc) guidelines.

  • Promotes safety, sanitation and organization daily.

  • Fully understands the operation and flow of all processes and equipment in all departments including the AS400.

  • Prioritizes and schedules activities and resources to meet the daily production schedule and ensures the best possible customer service and efficiency.

  • Provides daily follow up, for all manufacturing units, on all orders scheduled for shipment.

  • Schedules and ensures training for all Operators as necessary.

  • Tracks adherence to all Personnel Policies and departmental procedures. Takes appropriate actions to correct deviations. Writes annual performance reviews of all reports.

  • Improves the overall Operations department's dedication to Inventory Record Accuracy.

  • Investigates root causes and sets corrective action plans for all quality, yield and other departmental deviations.

  • Ensures all work instructions and process are followed by all reports.

  • Communicates, fosters and expands continuous improvement and teamwork initiatives throughout the Operations group.

  • Communicates all manufacturing, quality, safety and personnel concerns or deviations to Department Managers or Operations Director.

  • Takes a lead role in any emergency or security situations, which may occur while on duty.

  • Polices all areas of the facility for any safety or security concerns.

  • Contribute to team effort by performing other duties and assignments as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Role requires 2-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing / production environment or 4 year degree in an equivalent field.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to understand, develop and manage production schedules
