Process Automation in ADM Europoort is Part of the Process Automation Group and is responsible for Process Control activities specifically in the ADM Europoort plant but can be involved as well in all ADM locations in Europe, Africa and Asia. The main task of Process Automation EMEA is to drive Digital Transformation and to establish effective and modern process control for ADM production locations by assisting and executing expansion projects or upgrade projects of existing process control as well as maintenance. This includes all aspects of Process Automation ranging from instruments to OT/MES infrastructure.
Included in process control are several systems:
• Support of several PLC and DCS systems like Emerson DeltaV, Valmet D3 and Siemens PLC systems
• Support of weigh scale systems
• Support of laboratory systems
• Support of Aveva PI data historian systems
• Support of process control network and OT infrastructure
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Process Control and Automation Manager, the main duties of this role will include:
• Discuss and negotiate with process engineers to describe the projects by means of User Requirements, State Transition Diagrams and Functional Sheets based on available Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Translate Functional Sheets and P&IDs to operator graphics and computer code used on PLC and DCS (Distributed Control System) installations. Mainly for PlantPAx, DeltaV and Siemens PLC systems
• Perform test procedures of established code and graphics
• Maintain and support Process Automation, Operational Technology and Digital Transformation in use at the Europoort location
The candidate
The new process control engineer to be added to the team must meet the following description:
• A Bachelor degree in Automation technology, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or sufficient experience in automation systems
• Ability to program on a sophisticated level at least on one or more of the following systems:
Siemens PLC systems, PlantPAx, DeltaV
• Willing to learn other systems
• Ability to work with Windows 10/11, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Ability to understand and implement network infrastructure.
• Ability to communicate with local process engineers, supplying companies during the full life cycle of a process control system.
• Hands-on, can-do mentality.
• Drive for results and continuous improvement.
