Position Purpose:

To ensure the safe, efficient and continuous operations of mechanical/instrumentation equipment and other plant resources inside the facility.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety

  • To maintain the integrity of all mechanical and related safety devices and equipment (Bearing temperature, Fastener, Gearbox condition, pulley, shaft, coupling, v-belt, chain, ducting, sprocket, linkages, paddles, machine casing, seals, chute, impeller fire sensors, critical safety devices, etc)
  • To implement assigned defects to be corrected- walk-thru reports, audit defects, etc.
  • To actively participate in all safety activities - safety meetings, trainings, celebrations, etc.
  • To play an active role in enforcing company safety policies, rules and regulations to more specific activities (Safety work permit system, etc) for maintenance and contractors.
Quality

  • To implement specific mechanical activities are installed according to acceptable engineering standards (ADM specifications, building code, DOLE codes, etc)
  • To implement equipment specific calibration activities (Machine efficiency) and also implement the process of continuous risk elimination/reduction for food safety concerns (Cleaning of Machines whole units, etc)
  • To implement the GMPs/SOPs on all maintenance related equipment and control activities and also implement the correction of identified defects/correction items.
  • To be an active member in implementing maintenance related HACCP/GMP activities. ( Ex. Upkeep and implementation of calibration activities/records, in-line production maintenance, MSDS records, audit/inspection defect correction, etc)
Customer Service

  • To efficiently and safely operate, maintain and repair Utilities equipment (steam boiler, compressors, deep well, etc.)
  • To perform mechanical tasks/TS required by the facility (Plant fabrication requirements, security, fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, communication, etc).
  • Coordinates with the production supervisor, plant operator, external agencies the implementation and legwork required for electro-mechanical/instrumentational related activities. (Ex. Mechanical process revision, project implementation according to the customer's needs).
Housekeeping and Records

  • To manage the inventory of mechanical/instrumentation spares and operating supplies (wrench, pipe wrench, Jack, chain block, grease gun, welding machine, grinder, etc.)
  • To ensure the accurate preparation of maintenance register, equipment inspection reports, mechanical spare parts, etc.
  • To maintain the housekeeping condition of the Utilities area (Fabrication area, Utility area, Boiler area, etc) and also the upkeep of plant security access systems.


Property Conservation

  • The implement the scheduled equipment inspection and lubrication work activities of mechanical devices (motors, terminations, gauges, meters, etc).
  • To implement the scheduled PMs work activities.
  • To perform the mechanical activities inside the facility.
  • To implement the agreed mechanical plan/conservation activities (Machine innovation, etc).
  • To assist the maintenance supervisor in sourcing, specifying and implementing material and service purchases specifically related to mechanical and operational activities.
  • Plays an active role in initiating, implementing and maintaining mechanical and instrumentation related improvement projects and ideas.
Administrative functions

  • To play an administrative role in managing specific projects/contractors related to mechanical and instrumentation works.
  • To implement any special task given by the maintenance supervisor
Ensure that the preventive maintenance of the equipment comply with the HACCP requirements by following all the applicable GMP's and SOP's.

  • Conducts preventive maintenance on all equipment to ensure that they are operating as designed and does not
  • pose contamination risk to products and ingredients.
  • Ensures that all chemicals, lubricants and equipment purchase does not pose contamination risk to products
  • and ingredients.
  • Ensures that all equipment is being calibrated and inspected for accuracy as designed, to ensure that they
  • operating as designed and does not pose contamination risk to products and ingredients.
  • Conducts effective housekeeping and routine maintenance on equipment and areas, to ensure that they operating as designed and does not pose contamination risk to products and ingredients.
Environment

  • To ensure that all maintenance activities does not affect or harm the environment, all lubricant, oil chemical if any must be stored on the MRF facility with proper recording.
