Job Summary

ADM, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world's premier agricultural origination and processing company, has an opening for a Plant Manager in our human nutrition business. This position will be provide leadership and execution of site strategy delivering on occupational safety, business objectives, continuous improvement processes, food safety and day to day operations of the facility. This position is responsible for the safe, successful and progressive day-to-day operational activities and maintaining compliance with company policies, government regulation and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, FDA, USDA, FRA, HACCP, etc.). The facility processes citrus oils into intermediate and finished products used in industrial and food applications 100 ADM and temporary colleagues.

Work Duties and Required Skills
  • Actively work to ensure that all employees, visitors, vendors and contractors understand and align with
  • the ADM safety policies and procedures;
  • Require compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations not limited to
  • Life Critical Safety programs (lockout/tagout, hot work, confined spaces, etc.), Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA requirements for water and air discharges;
  • Effectively manage Food Safety and Quality personnel to ensure continuous audit readiness in a Food
  • Safety plant;
  • Efficiently manage resources and assets to meet production and quality goals;
  • Lead plant management in establishing policies, procedures and plant priorities;
  • Lead plant operations in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive climate to achieve
  • organizational goals driving high employee engagement and morale;
  • Provide mentorship to department supervisors and engineers to achieve short term and long-term
  • department performance through use of KPI's, continuous improvement, and Performance Excellence
  • concepts;
  • Embrace an owner's mentality by managing costs and continuously focus on efficiency improvement;
  • Ensure training and development of all plant employees to support rapid and efficient onboarding of new colleagues and proficiency of existing colleagues;
  • Provide mentorship, accountability, and disciplinary guidance to the operations management team.
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial
  • Engineering or similar area of concentration;
  • 10+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, ingredients processing or similar industry;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability including a vision for strategic direction, delegation and leading others in
  • ability to execute;
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and EPA requirements for safety and waste management.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, & Food Safety Standards;
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Budget and CAPEX planning experience;
  • Workload prioritization planning;
  • Make decisions in a fair and professional manner;
  • Possess the ability to climb stairs, lift up to 55 lbs, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer
  • work, providing calculated information, working from heights, bending, kneeling, working adjusted
  • hours, and in various climates.
Preferred Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience leading a plant engaged in citrus ingredients processing using batch and continuous distillation.
  • Experience with ERP systems, standard costing models and procurement;
  • Continuous Improvement leadership and application of CI processes in a production environment;.
  • Demonstrated scale-up experience and/or new technology development experience in a production
  • environment;
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and QC lab testing and procedures;
  • Direct experience managing a OSHA PSM compliant facility.
