REPORTS TO: Director of Operations, NA E2E SC Animal & Pet Nutrition

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Plant Manager will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes and will oversee all daily operations of the plant including Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resource management, Production operations, and Engineering, Maintenance, Warehousing and Supply Chain functions. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity on behalf of ADM Animal Nutrition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Lead a plant culture focused on human and food safety; prioritizing safety and quality over output
  • Collaborate with health/safety managers to develop, implement and sustain safety policies for site operations
  • Commit to and develop an engaged safety culture for all colleagues
  • Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations
  • Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with all colleagues and recruit, manage and develop operations staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find opportunities for improvement
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Active, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the facility
  • Support all colleagues, managers and supervisors, to ensure job and safety training programs are being completed
  • Ensure that the facility is compliant with the law, regulatory requirements, and Company programs to support our Quality Assurance and Food Safety plans
  • Respond to and follow up on Customer complaints, while working alongside Commercial leadership to resolve issues
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 3-5 years of supervisory experience with a proven ability to evaluate and reach reasonable conclusions
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong problem solving skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities, work independently and objectively, and success interacting with individuals and groups
  • History of support of cross functional teams to best meet the needs of the Company, region and plant.
  • Concern for product and process Quality and Support of Food Safety plans
  • Demonstrated ability to present material with energy and enthusiasm to motivate and influence people
  • Computer skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • History of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts
  • Related Industry Knowledge
  • Must be willing to relocate
