Job Summary

ADM, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world's premier agricultural origination and processing company, has an opening for a Plant Manager in our animal nutrition business. This position will provide leadership and execution of site strategy delivering on occupational safety, business objectives, continuous improvement processes, food safety and day to day operations of the facility. This position is responsible for the safe, successful and progressive day-to-day operational activities and maintaining compliance with company policies, government regulation and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, FDA, USDA, FRA, HACCP, etc.). The facility processes extruded pet food and treats.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage daily production requirements for the Sabetha campus ensuring compliance with company policies, GMP's, quality assurance, and established regulations (FDA, EPA, OSHA).
  • Active, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the Sabetha campus facilities. Ensure Managers, Supervisors and Employees are completing assignments as the need arises by ADM and that they have the vital tools and supplies to complete all required tasks.
  • Safety Champion by promoting safe behavior, implementing safety programs and oversight of safety training requirements.
  • Develop an annual operation plan to include productivity and efficiency improvements, automation and quality advancements and employee development.
  • Ensure facilities are operating at best capacity and all equipment and inventory assets are maintained appropriately. Ensure capital and maintenance projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage all production related expenses (payroll/overtime, inventory, equipment repairs and maintenance, and supplies).
  • Work closely with Customer Service and Purchasing departments to help resolve problems with customers, customer service and sales personnel.
  • Work closely with Quality to help implement food safety/sanitation/quality programs to ensure that the facility is aligned with the law, regulatory requirements, and company programs along with continuously looking for improvements in QA programs.
  • Responsible for identifying and executing cost management initiatives.
  • Responsibility to identify food safety and/or product integrity issues and to initiate and record actions for issues reported.
  • Responsibility to communicate and review any information deemed necessary, including but not limited to, food safety, product integrity, formulas, specifications and/or changes, with customers.
  • Authority to purchase necessary chemicals and lubricants.
  • Authority to communicate with suppliers, customers, contractors and organizations (including but not limited to regulatory and statutory organizations).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications Required
  • University degree (or 5+ years of equivalent applicable work experience)
  • Five+ years of experience in Agriculture manufacturing (preferably feed / food plant experience), maintenance and supervisory experience. Prior experience with budgeting, asset realization, and plant project management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic PC skills.
  • Strong leadership, verbal / written communications skills, and be self-motivated.
  • History of working safely with a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts.
  • Proven experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and be decisive and results-oriented in the interest of improving profit potential.
  • Must have a proven record of building relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
