Planning Coordinator - Kennesaw, GA

Nature & Scope

The Planning Coordinator will work on production planning and responsibilities related to production scheduling. They will be responsible for preparing batch records, conducting raw material review, conducting case transfers, preparing deviations, and creating any necessary transfer lists. They will also be responsible for communicating across multiple departments to assist in problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Job Creation, Job Release and Folder Creation:
  • Based upon the production schedule, prepare the job folders, including any necessary QR RM case transfers needed, and forward to QA (Quality Assurance) for approval
  • Generate MMRs and forward to QA for approval
  • Print all Product Specifications and alert QA or Customer Service of any issues
  • Print all Job Tickets
  • Print appropriate Work Instructions for each stage of production
  • Dictate any lots necessary after RM or WIP review
  • Ensure stability requirements are met
  • Amending jobs and dictating pack outs for customer requests
  • Assist with scheduling and maintenance of the Planning Software, APS, as needed
  • All other duties assigned
Deviation and Job Amending Management:
  • Maintain a detailed list of RM (raw material) items in QR
  • Review the production schedule and identify the jobs that will use QR RM
  • Perform calculations to determine the required deviations to the QR RM to conform to the Company's quality standard
  • For those productions / blends for which the QR RM can be used, perform the calculations to determine the revised quantities for each recipe
  • Collaborate with Product Development and QA with any in process deviations that may occur
Raw Material Review:
  • Review each raw material needed for the following week's production and determine whether the materials required are on hand in "good" inventory or in a QR (Quality Rejected) status and can be used on deviations.
  • Create the weekly transfer list of materials needed
  • Create and review trial kits
Education
  • Minimum - High School Diploma
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of planning / inventory management experience.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is desirable but not required.

  • Ability to excel within high-risk work environment.
  • Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal & external customers.
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
  • Applications within a windows based operating environment.
  • Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies & safety programs.
Physical Demands:
  • This position requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions such as an office environment and indoors/outdoors, as well as physical demands such as standing, kneeling, and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer and other relevant office equipment for prolonged periods.   • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to loud machine noise.
