About the Position

ADM is looking for a motivated and safety-focused Roll Tender to join our Mill operations. This position is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, proven production experience, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Shift Miller, Flour End, Wheat End & Transfer Operators. Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, this position is responsible for supporting mill operations by assisting with flour and wheat end processes, performing transfer duties, and ensuring safe, efficient, and productive work practices.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete all flour changes on yield management system
  • Monitor rolls, complete break releases and wheat changes
  • Assist in daily operations of the flour and wheat ends
  • Provide coverage for Transfer Operator tasks as required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Monitor equipment and processes to ensure smooth operation
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Maintain accurate records and perform computer-based reporting tasks
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving, self-motivation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with high-speed production environments
  • Ability to foster and maintain a safe work environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong leadership qualities with a confident, courteous demeanor
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practices and standards


Education or Work Experience
  • Relevant experience in a mill or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous work in a high-speed production setting strongly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
  • Management experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Work weekends and rotational 12-hour continental shifts
  • Beginning of employment, training may be required on Monday to Friday 8 hour shifts.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing stairs, standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or at heights
  • Tolerate extreme temperatures in various areas of the facility
  • Walk long distances and work with tools as part of daily responsibilities
  • Follow instructions and adapt to operational demands
  • All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
