Operations Learning and Development Coordinator - Mexico, MO

Position Summary:

This role serves as the learning & development coordinator for the Mexico Site and is responsible for the development and implementation of the technical training program and for Performance Excellence coordination. This job is responsible for ensuring that team development and technical training is completed in alignment with Performance Excellence principles and methodologies to promote operational efficiency, consistency and continuous improvement. This position will also be responsible for management support to facilitate safe reliable efficient plant operations as directed by the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a premier training program to provide a highly effective, robust, motivated, and safe workforce passionate about continuous improvement by:
  • Collaborate with the Performance Excellence Team to develop, implement, document, and measure the efficiency of training.
  • Mentor and develop unit/department employees to establish an inspiring & high performance culture.
  • Support safe, reliable performance of duties by ensuring that units/departments follow Site, Corporate, Quality and regulatory standards related to operating procedures and MOCs (Management of Change).
  • Collaborate with Corporate L&D and peer L&D Coordinators to drive best practices and consistency of training across the site.
  • Responsible for the Site's new hire training and mentoring program.
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with OJT (on the job training) mentors, subject matter experts, procedure reviewers, training reviewers, engineers, managers/supervisors, and EHS staff to support the site's training activities.
  • Maintain, update and audit all training documents and procedures as required by changes, MOCs, and periodic reviews.
  • Enhance skills to include adult learning methodologies and deliver one on one coaching and instruction, in the field training, casual small group training, and formal stand up instruction.
  • Other management support functions as determined by Plant Manager to assist in maintaining safe, reliable , and efficient plant operations.
Job Requirements:
  • The ability to lead and motivate others.
  • The ability to assess training needs, translate job requirements into training requirements, and organize instructional material both during development and in presentations.
  • Proficiency in active listening, clear communication, training, coaching, and developing.
  • Ability to identify issues and problem solve.
  • Networking skills to help get all others to support Performance Excellence and training programs, including the ability to encourage and improve the level of engagement within their team.
  • Presentation skills suitable to all types of training (one-on-one coaching, in-the-field training, casual small group training, and formal stand-up instruction). A self-driven work ethic that is a positive role model for trainees.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
