The Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for the role of Operations Director at our Somerset facility. In this pivotal position, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring that our production of probiotic supplements adheres to the highest quality standards while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste. This role calls for a dynamic leader with a strategic mindset and a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations, health & safety, quality assurance, and supply chain management. Responsibilities

• Manufacturing: Ensure the facility has the required resources and capacity to achieve its manufacturing targets. Work with the Operations Manager to set clear goals and KPIs for the manufacturing team, then support to ensure goals and KPIs are met within budget and timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.

• Health & Safety: Ensuring the facility operates in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain a safe working environment for all staff.

• Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and develop the facility's operational leadership team to ensure high performance and professional growth. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Quality Assurance: Overall responsibility for quality standards and processes on the site, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other relevant industry standards. Work closely with the Head of Quality to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.

• Process Optimization: Work with Technology Engineer and Operations Manager to assess and improve production workflows, equipment, and technologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest product quality.

• Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Oversee the onsite Supply Chain team to ensure inventory levels for raw materials and finished products are properly managed and delivered on time. Minimize production downtime by ensuring team have resources and tools to forecast and plan efficiently.

• Customer Delivery: Ensuring the site continues to deliver value to all customers, maintaining a strong OTIF record and ensuring delivery of the revenue forecast.

• Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the operations budget for the site, monitoring & controlling cost and implementing strategies to reduce waste and increase profitability.

• Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on production performance, key metrics, and areas for improvement to senior management. Analyse data to make informed decisions on process improvements.

• Innovation & Product Development: Collaborate with CD&D to bring new probiotic products to market, ensuring scalability and manufacturability of new products.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing industry.

• Knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and other relevant standards for supplement manufacturing.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to drive performance and foster a positive workplace culture.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and report to senior leadership.

• Proficiency in ERP systems, data analysis, and manufacturing software.

• Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
