Oil Department Area Superintendent - Clinton, Iowa Oilseeds Division - Germ Processing This is a full time, exempt level position.
Position Summary: Oil Department Area Superintendents lead day-to-day operations in the Clinton germ processing and oil refinery department to produce high quality products that provide value to customers and a return to shareholders. The department consists of germ receiving, prep, extraction, refining, bleaching, dewaxing, and deodorizing. This is a non-union facility with a department consisting of a workforce of approximately 25 hourly employees and 9 salaried employees. The successful candidate will report to the Oil Department Superintendent. This position will report through the Oilseed Division but will operate under Corn Division policies and procedures.
The skills necessary to be successful include an understanding of extraction and oil refinery processes and the ability to lead and manage plant priorities in areas including: plant and personnel safety, administration of all corporate and plant policies, quality control, environmental compliance, production, cost management, capital discipline, commercial interactions and colleague development for the location.
Job Responsibilities: • Display a commitment to lead, participate and support ongoing safety including behavior based safety efforts. • Direct the daily operations of the plant which include safety and environmental compliance, interaction with corporate personnel, food safety, quality control, labor relations, production, cost optimization and sustainability. • Understanding of all operations, rules, regulations, policies and have the ability to communicate those requirements effectively to the workforce. • Oversight for some capital projects including budget and timing • Provide solutions and promote teamwork amongst the various groups such as commercial, production, maintenance and engineering
