Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Mechanical Maintenance team at ADM Erith (including contractors and mechanical apprentices), driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Oversee the maintenance, reliability, and safe operation of all mechanical installations across the ADM Erith facility.
  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Create, implement, and track preventive maintenance schedules to extend asset life and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, UK, and EU legislation, and internal company standards for all mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and technical authority for all mechanical compliance, ensuring equipment, procedures, and maintenance activities meet all relevant UK regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive maintenance procedures.
  • Provide expert technical support for new installations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Initiate, develop, and deliver capital and improvement projects.
  • Ensure critical spare-parts availability and optimise the spares strategy to support equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Monitor, report, and drive departmental KPIs, ensuring performance targets are met and improvement plans are executed.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes to ensure all personnel involved in maintenance operations are competent, compliant, and up to date with current standards.
Your Profile:
  • Qualified to City & Guilds/NC/HNC level in an Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven experience managing teams and resolving conflicts.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to prepare reports, communicate with management, and liaise with vendors.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills for troubleshooting equipment failures.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with maintenance management software and a good understanding of MS office packages.
  • The role involves working at heights, confined space entry, and manual handling requirements.
