Maintenance Mechanic - Vineland, NJ

This is an full time, hourly position. for Day Shift only.

Position Summary:

The Vineland manufacturing location is a 58,000-square-foot facility producing savory products used in many industries serving North America. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform maintenance and repair on food processing equipment and the facility.

Span of Control: Reports to Maintenance Superintendent

Job Description:

Repairs and maintains all production equipment and facility, but not limited to:
  • Choppers
  • Fillers
  • Ovens
  • Emulsifiers
  • Kettles
  • Pumps
  • Metal Detectors
Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily inspections of machinery & equipment.
  • Performs improvements to building structures and fixtures.
  • Conducts minor repairs to electrical systems and plumbing.
  • Repairs and maintains all HVAC systems.
  • Repairs and maintains boiler system.
  • Interprets manuals and diagnostic drawings.
  • Calibrates equipment.
  • Reports problems with physical equipment or maintenance tasks that may impact on safe quality food to immediate supervisor and Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • Completes paperwork as required.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Complete required trainings as scheduled.
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Trade or Vocational School graduate preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Excellent welding skills for stainless steel. (stick, tig, mig, plasma, sanitary)
  • Fabrication Skills are a plus.
  • Currently licensed for Boiler Operator (Blue or Black Seal preferred) and/or Licensed HVAC (not certified).
  • Understanding of hydraulic, plumbing and electrical systems. Aptitude for repair.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety hazards and contamination/cross contamination prevention.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, complete forms, and prepare reports. Good communication ability and ability to complete Purchase Orders and Work Orders.
  • Manual dexterity and strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Desire for personal improvement.
  • Ability to get along with fellow employees and work as a team.
  • Excellent Attendance is expected and flexibility to work off hours may be required.
  • Experience with SMS and SPCC recordkeeping a plus.
  • Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures.
  • Prepared to perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to utilize fork trucks, scissor lifts and articulated boom lifts.
  • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance.
  • Must have confident and courteous manners.
