About the Position

The ADM Windsor, Ontario grain terminal is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Millwright. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hour shifts, 7:00AM to 3:00PM, with an unpaid lunch. Duties of a Maintenance Millwright are to maintain all equipment to required standards, provide support for preventive and failure based maintenance and assist offloading/loading vessels as required by the terminal needs. Must be willing to take after hours call-ins on evenings and weekends and respond to facility as needed. This is an hourly unionized position.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting mechanical failures
  • Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment
  • Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Recommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance
  • Reading equipment drawings and documentation
  • Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.
  • All other duties required
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding
  • Must be familiar with and able to work on the repair and maintenance of all processing equipment in the plant. This includes, but is not limited to: conveying systems (drag, belt, screw), gearboxes, power transmission, milling roll equipment, grinders and filtration equipment
  • Both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position. Must be able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems, have excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks and strive for continuous improvement
  • Proven experience with High-speed production
  • Detail oriented with good verbal and written skill
  • Must have good attention to detail troubleshooting skills
  • Must be familiar with standardized industrial procedures, practices and concepts
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Related Industry Knowledge


Education or Work Experience
  • The candidate must have a high degree of mechanical competence supported by a journeyman ticket
  • Two (2) years of experience as a journeyman
Additional Information
  • History of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts
  • The candidate must be willing to work overtime, call-ins, weekends and holiday
  • The candidate must have regular, prompt attendance, have the ability to climb stairs, lift 55 pounds, sit and stand for long periods, be able to work in confined spaces, work with heights, bending and kneeling. The candidate must be able to work in a plant environment in a variety of environmental conditions including inside and outside, hot and cold temperatures and dusty environments
  • Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
  • All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
